Show Notes

Juleyka has worked behind the scenes in various capacities on many hit shows, including 70 Million, Latina to Latina, Driving the Green Book, Marvel’s Voices, Code Switch, and more

Her depth of experience merged in a flash to become one of her newest hits: How to Talk to [Mamí & Papí] About Anything. The show went from idea to launch in just three weeks, but of course it took Juleyka’s years of work in podcasting to make something like that possible.

This show is personal, which is why Juleyka cast herself in a role she wouldn’t normally choose: she’s the show host and narrator. How to Talk to [Mamí & Papí] About Anything addresses issues that adult children of immigrant parents may have a hard time talking to their parents about. Juleyka herself is from the Domincan Republic and moved to the US when she was 10, so she makes the perfect stand-in for her audience, because she is the audience.

In each episode, a guest shares a testimonial of an issue they face, and this is followed by an interview between Juleyka and an expert in the field, where they discuss the issue at hand. Most importantly, the show is resonating with listeners.

In this episode, join 3 Clips host and Marketing Showrunners founder Jay Acunzo as he talks with Juleyka Lantigua Williams about the large and small choices that make How to Talk to [Mamí & Papí] About Anything a success - and how it was the perfect combination of Juleyka following her well-honed instincts and tapping into her high tolerance for risk that made it happen.

Flash Forward: Ethically Mixing Fact and Fiction (ft. Rose Eveleth)

In 2021, we’re blessed to live in a podcast landscape ripe with richly reported nonfiction shows that challenge your way of thinking and expand your world: Reply All, Invisibilia, Far Flung, the list goes on. There is also an expanding slate of fictional podcasts to get lost in. But what if you could have both in one show?  With Flash Forward, a show about the future, our guest Rose Eveleth inspires imaginations and pushes listeners to think about the world we live in now, and how it could be different. Like other science shows, Rose calls on scientists and other experts to break down complex concepts in an accessible way. But sprinkled throughout each episode are speculative fiction scenes that offer a glimpse of “possible and not so possible futures.”  In this episode of 3 Clips, Rose and Jay break down a Flash Forward episode about humans’ search for alien life. They discuss how to make scientists sound podcast-worthy, how Rose has carved out her own voice in the science genre, and her fiction writing process. Also, Rose offers insights on how she’s managed to make such a multilayered show as an independent producer.  EXPLORE THE SHOW 3clipspodcast.com for all episodes of the show.  LEARN MORE ABOUT 3 CLIPS HOST JAY ACUNZO Subscribe to his newsletter, explore his course for podcasters, or watch and listen to all of Jay’s shows and projects at jayacunzo.com  LEARN MORE ABOUT CASTOS 3 Clips is a Castos Original Series.
